A £10 a week food budget for one person

on Tue May 29, 2018 9:22 am
Obviously with a small budget, organic, free-range and luxury food will not be possible, but it is possible to eat well on a small budget.

breakfasts can be covered with cereal costing between 50-75p, and milk on top for around £2 in total, if wanting tea with sugar also budget around 90p for that.

lunches are covered with either sandwiches (bread is around 80p, butter around £1, and various prices for fillings)

sandwich fillings - salad with salad cream, cucumber, tomato, lettuce is around £1.20 for the week

or baked potato - around £4.50 including cheese and butter for the week

dinners can be made around pasta which is 20p, rice which is 45p, or eggs 70p with mushrooms 50p, broccoli 55p, carrots 45p, tinned tomatoes 31p, and stock cubes 50p

of course having once bought many of these ingrediants they will last for a second week enablng more vegetables or other itens to be bought then.
